Biography: Laura Virginia Magaha was the child of Samuel and Agnes (Ross) Magaha and was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 6, 1860. She met and married William Kirby on March 24, 1880.In the 1900 census it said that Laura and William had eight children and seven were still living. we found all eight of their births and the one that seemed to be missing was Ida Kirby. Her husband died in April of 1913 after getting in a fight with his son. her son George died in June of that same year of uraemia, which is a kidney disease. Laura lived with her different childern after the death of her husband William. She died in 1937 of Arterial schlerosis. Her obituary from the Baltimore Sun Papers read: " Suddenly on May 8, 1937 at her home 1733 Williams Street, Laura V. (nee Magaha) (Loudon County (Va.) papers please copy. Funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter Mrs. Charles Ruhling, 1742 Johnson Street, of which due notice will be given." She was laid to rest on May 11, 1937 at Mount Olivet Cemetery located on Frederick Ave. In Baltimore
