Biography: Mary T. Lyons was the daughter of Samuel and Magdaline Francis (Magaha) Lyons. She was only 17 years of age at the time of her father's death and only 18 when her mother died. She met and married Hery Seidlich, according to the 1910 census sometime around 1906. We know for sure that they had two children because the 1910 census had Frederick A. and Edward E listed as their children. I could not find them in the 1920 census,so we do not know if they had anymore children. Mary along with her husband died in July 1928 when their auto collided with a train. Article taken out of the Baltimore Sun read as follows: MAN AND WIFE ARE KILLED AS TRAIN AND AUTO COLLIDE. Mr and Mrs. Seidlich, of Marley Park, die in crash at W., B. & A. Rail Crossing.---------------Mr. and Mrs. Seidlich, of Marley Park, Md. who conduct a flower and fruit stand on the Annapolis Boulevard, were killed yesterday when their automobile was struck by a Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Electric Railroad train at Marley Station Crossing.
The train was derailed and jolted over the ties for twenty five feet before being brought to a stop. None of the twenty passengers was seriously injured.
After the couple had been taken from the wrecked machine, Dr. James S. Billingslea, Of Glen Burnie, pronounced them dead.
The train left Annapolis at 8:40 A.M. for Baltimore. An inquest will be held at Severna Park Police Station tonight.
I've been told that the Marley Station Crossing was wher the Marley Station Mall is now. Also in the 1930 census there were two young children named John and Anna who were place in the German Orphanage on Bloomsbury Ave in Catonsville, and we are not sure at this time if their is any relationship between Mary and them. Mary and her husband were buried from Her sister's ( Laura Arnold) house and buried in Salem Luthern Cemetery in Catonsville.
