Mary Louisa Dorsey

Biography: Mary Louisa was the first born child of George W. and Theresa (Magaha) Dorsey born in December of 1886. She was baptized at St Peter's the Apostle Catholic Church located at Hollins and Poppleton Sts in Southwest Baltimore. Her Godparents were Michael and Margaret Dorsey (brother and sister of George). Mary Louisa died when she was only one year six months and fifteen days old. her cause of death was cholera infantium. She was buried on July 3, 1888 at St Peter's Cemetery located on Windchester and Bentlou St in Baltimore. I have personally visted that cemetery and it is in such disaray that it is almost impossible to find any graves of people who were buried there. Her obituary taken out of the Baltimore Sun Papers read as follows "On July 1, 1888 Mary Louisa, age one year six months and 15 days, only and beloved child of George W. and Theresa E. Dorsey. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend her funeral, from the residence of her parents, No. 1121 Bowen Street, on this tuesday afternoon, July 3, at 2:30 o'clock.
