Biography: George W. Dorsey was born in 1861 to John and Catherine (Lillis) Dorsey in Baltimore, Maryland. He met
and married Theresa Magaha some time in the mid 1880's. We are not sure of the exact date. We have looked long and hard
for thier marriage date but have not been able to find out when or where they were married. In the 1900 census for George
and Theresa it said they had been married for fifteen years which would put the date as sometime in 1885. We are not sure
what George did for a living, but most of the census listed his occupation as a laborer. Someone told me that they had
heard that George W. had worked or owned a lime kiln. When George's father died he bequeathed to George the sum of five
dollars. The house George died in (1744 Johnson Street) was owned by the Sien factory for the use of their employees.
George had a very active life of producing children, many of whom died at a very young age. My father (George's son) never
talked much about his father, so the only information we have of him is what we were able to dig up at the Maryland State
Archives. If anyone else has information I would love to have it. As far as we know there are no pictures that have survived
of George W. Dorsey. George died on Christmas Day 1931 and was buried in New Catheral Cemetery on the 29th of December 1931.
His obituary out of the baltimore Sun read as follows: "Dorsey------On December 25, 1931 George W., beloved husband of Theresa
