Biography: Edith L. Dorsey was the daughter of George W. and Theresa (Magaha) Dorsey and was born in 1892. She met and married Edward H. Bruning, they were married in January 1917. They had one child together (Mae),and according to the divorce decree, which was not issused until 31 August 1936, Edward said that they never lived together, and that she refused to leave her mother. Edith then met and married James Carney, are not sure of the exact date. They had no children together. Edith died on September 11, 1956, one day after her husband was buried. Cause of death : celebral vascular accident, secondary cause: alerisaleral cardio vescular disease. She was laid to rest in New Catheral Cemetery. Her obituary as taken out of the Baltimore Sun Papers read as follows: "Carney------ On September 11, 1956 Edith L. (nee Dorsey) of 1332 James Street, beloved wife of the late James Carney and beloved mother of Mrs. Mae D. Hudson. Services at the McCully Funeral Home, 130 East Fort Avenue on Saturday at 8:30 A.M. Requiem High Mass at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Catheral Cemetery"
