Biography: Michael Joseph Dorsey was the twin brother of George William Dorsey and the son of George W. and Theresa (Magaha) Dorsey. He lived to be only 21 days old. We have found two different names for this child. On his baptsimal certificate he was listed as Nicholas Joseph and on his death certificate he was listed as Michael Joseph Dorsey. We do not know which one is correct, so I went with the official death certificate and called him Michael. Birth certificates in the early 1900's did not list the name of the child, just the name of the Mother and Father and the sex of the baby.Michael was christened at St. Martin's Catholic Church on N. Fulton Ave. in Baltimore. His Godfather was John Dorsey, we beleive to be the son of Michael and Bessie Dorsey; His Godmother was Mary Dorsey, Mary could had been Michael Aunt or Sister. Michael died on January 30, 1903 and the cause of death was listed as bronchial pneumonia with a secondary cause of asphyxia. He was laid to rest in St Peter's Cemetery located on Bentalou Street in Baltimore.
