Biography: Mary Ellen Dorsey was the oldest daughter of John and Catherine (Lillis) Dorsey and was the twin sister of
Michael John Dorsey being born in 1853. Mary never married, but in the 1910 census she was living with Margaret and her
youngest sister Agnes and her husband and family at 1606 Hollins Street We are not sure if Mary ever worked and if she
did we do not know what she did. On her death certificate it listed her occupation as home duties. Cause of her death was
listed as Dysentery. It seems as though it runs, so to speak, in the family. Mary was 60 years of age when she died.
Her obituary as taken out of the Baltimore Sun Papers: "Dorsey---- On July 1, 1919, Mary E., eldest and beloved daughter of
the late John and Catherine Dorsey, R.I.P. (Washington D.C. and New York papers please copy) Funeral from her late residence,
1606 Hollins Street, Friday Morning at 8 oclock thence to St. Martin's Church. Requiem High Mass will be said at 8:30. Interment
in the New Catheral Cemetery.
