Biography: Elizabeth (Lizzie) (Dorsey) Vansant was born in 1859 to John and Catherine (Lillis) Dorsey. She met and married
William Vansant in November of 1889 at St Jeromes Catholic Church and they had three children together.After the birth
of her third child she developed pneumonia and died eight days later, and following her in death was her baby daughter
Adele. Her husband William after her death, according to the Baltimore City Directory, went to live with his parents and his
children lived with Agnes (Dorsey) Murphy and Catherine (Dorsey) Lochboehler. Elizabeth was buried in New Catheral Cemetery
in the Dorsey family plot. The obituary as taken out of the Baltimore Sun Papers read as follows: " Vansant---- on February
12 at 5:30 oclock P.M. Lizzie beloved wife of William G. and Daughter of Catherine and the late John Dorsey. May her soul
rest in peace. Her funeral will take place from her late residence No 1026 S. Paca Street on Monday morning at 8:30 oclock
thence to St. Jeromes Church, where a High Mass of Requiem will be offered for the repose of her soul. Relatives and
friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend."
