Biography: Michael John Dorsey was the son of John and Catherine (Lillis) Dorsey and was the twin brother of Mary Ellen
Dorsey being born in 1853. He met and married Elizabeth Kane and they had , according to the 1900 census,seven children together and
5 were living. we were able to find six of the seven children. The 1900 census also listed him as a day laborer. Michael died
15 October 1900, his cause of death was appendicitis with a secondary cause of pepsis. At the time of his death he was living
at 1118 N. Monroe St. he was buried in New Catheral Cemetery. The obituary as taken out of the Baltimore Sun Papers read as
follows: "Dorsey--- On October 15, Michael J., beloved husband of Bessie C. Dorsey. The funeral will take place from his late
residence, No.1118 Monroe Street, This (Thursday) morning, October 18, at 8 oclock. High Mass of Requiem at St. Gregory's
Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend."
